Photographing the Landscape
This class concentrates on how to capture the beauty of the landscape in a photograph. We talk about what landscape photography is and view examples of landscape photographs. We talk about camera equipment, subject, composition and lighting. We then go out and photograph the landscapes of Sonoma, Marin or Napa as a group, with field advice given by me (or you can go shooting on your own if you wish). We meet again as a group to review the resulting images.
5 Meetings
2 hours Orientation session in Petaluma (weekday evening) @ 6:30 PM
5-6 hours 1 or 2 PM to 6 or 8 PM (depends on sunset) weekend field photo shoot
2 hours Followup and more discussion of the landscape (weekday evening) @ 6:30 PM
5-6 hours 1 or 2 PM to 6 or 8 PM (depends on sunset) weekend field photo shoot
2 hours Follow-up and group critique of images (2 weeks after first meeting) at 6:30 PM
